Two weeks before travel
- Confirm that the dormitory name, room category and academic-season dates match your records.
- Save your order reference, payment receipt, Pre-Acceptance Letter or current written status.
- Ask for the exact check-in address, reception hours and contact route.
- Review the dormitory document checklist.
- Ask what the room provides: bedding, towels, hangers, kitchen items and adapters should not be assumed.
Plan the airport-to-dorm route
Istanbul uses both Istanbul Airport (IST) and Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW). Confirm the airport code on your ticket before planning transport. Check current public options through the official IETT planner, the Metro Istanbul network maps and the official Sabiha Gökçen transport page where relevant.

Pack for the actual room, not a generic dorm

Arrival-day checklist
- Keep the dormitory address and reception contact available offline.
- Photograph the room condition and report existing damage through the approved channel.
- Confirm your assigned room category before unpacking.
- Receive and keep any key, access-card or inventory record.
- Ask where emergency, maintenance and after-hours contacts are displayed.
- Review house rules and the first payment or document deadline still outstanding.
