How to Book a Student Dorm in Istanbul as an International Student

The current five-step process

1. Pay the Holding Fee shown for the selected dormitory. The live FAQ describes it as a dormitory-specific amount that starts the reservation process and forms part of the Total Dormitory Fee.
2. Availability is checked. DormBooking contacts the selected dormitory to confirm the requested room.
3. Receive the next written status. If the room is available, the dormitory issues a Pre-Acceptance Letter.
4. Pay 30% of the Remaining Amount directly to the dormitory. The Remaining Amount is the Total Dormitory Fee minus the Holding Fee.
5. Follow the dormitory’s schedule for the remaining 70%. Schedules vary by dormitory, so use the written terms for the selected listing.

Payment status and reservation status are different

Before you pay

• Confirm the dormitory name, room category and 2026–2027 season dates.
• Check the Holding Fee amount and currency shown in the order summary.
• Read the relevant cancellation and refund conditions.
• Check who receives each payment. A later dormitory payment is not the same transaction as the initial Holding Fee.
• Keep the order reference, payment receipt and all written deadlines.

If the selected room is full

The live FAQ explains that alternatives may be offered when the selected dormitory is full. Refund eligibility depends on the stated conditions, including the outcome of those alternatives.
